2027: Leading Content Creators Rally Support for Balarabe Akinwumi

Two prominent content creators from Akure North and Akure South Local Government Areas of Ondo State have pledged voluntary support for Barr. Balarabe Abiodun Akinwumi, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for the Akure North and South Federal Constituency in the 2027 House of Representatives election.
The content creators, Mrs Ololade Yewande Jimoh, popularly known as @dunmomi01 of Dunmomi TV, and Mr Olatunji Abiola, widely known as @Locomotive, said they supported Akinwumi because of their longstanding admiration for his positive impact on youths, men, and women in society.

The duo, who command thousands of followers across their digital platforms, are renowned for creating indigenous-language content and culturally rooted comedy skits that showcase the identity, traditions and everyday experiences of the Akure people. Their platforms also enable indigenes at home and in the diaspora to connect with their cultural heritage through authentic local-language entertainment.
Explaining the motivation behind the support, Dunmomi TV said the constituency should support individuals whose contributions to society have shown their ability to make a difference.

“This is our constituency, and we must support someone who has been making an impact so that he can do even more when he has access to greater resources,” the content creator said.
In his remarks, Hon. Akinwumi reiterated the need to place young people at the centre of development, arguing that sustainable progress in the constituency depends on deliberate investments in their economic, creative and political empowerment.

He added that young people should be recognised not merely as future leaders but as active contributors to societal development.
“Our youths are not the leaders of tomorrow; they are the energy of today. If we must liberate Akure North and South, Ondo State and Nigeria at large, we must emancipate our youths economically, creatively and politically. This is not tokenism; it is trust,” he stated.
