The Senate on Thursday passed the revised appropriation bill after a marathon session that stretched well past midnight, clearing the way for presidential assent.

What changed

The revised plan raises allocations for road infrastructure and internal security, while trimming recurrent spending in several ministries.

"This budget reflects the realities Nigerians face every day," the Senate leader said.

Opposition senators raised concerns over borrowing levels but the bill passed by a clear majority.
