The Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has launched a fresh reconciliation initiative aimed at resolving internal grievances and restoring greater unity within the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The initiative followed the inauguration of a high-powered Reconciliation Committee by the State Chairman of the party, Hon. Kolawole Babatunde, with the Chairman of the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC), Hon. Biyi Poroye, appointed to lead the committee.
The development was contained in a press release issued by the office of the APC Chairman and obtained by PalacePulse News from Facebook on Friday.
According to the statement, the committee has been given the responsibility of engaging party leaders, members and other stakeholders to identify areas of disagreement, review grievances arising from the recent primary process and work towards lasting peace within the party.
Inaugurating the committee, Hon. Kolawole Babatunde urged Hon. Biyi Poroye and other members of the committee to approach the assignment with a strong sense of responsibility and ensure that all relevant interests are given adequate attention.
Babatunde stressed that the APC remained one united family, assuring members that the party leadership was committed to accommodating diverse interests in the collective pursuit of the party’s success.
The State Chairman also distanced himself and the Ondo State chapter of the APC from recent comments attributed to Mr. Rasak Obe, noting that the views expressed were personal and did not represent the official position of the party.
Meanwhile, the APC leadership in Ondo State has declared its readiness to mobilise massive support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Babatunde disclosed that the party had intensified mobilisation across the state, with a target of securing one million votes for President Tinubu.
He expressed confidence that the achievements of the Tinubu administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, alongside the developmental strides of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa under the EASE Agenda, would further strengthen the APC’s electoral prospects in the state.
The State Chairman commended President Tinubu for what he described as remarkable interventions in education, healthcare, infrastructure, economic reforms and social development, saying the initiatives demonstrated purposeful and people-centred leadership.
He called on APC leaders, members and supporters across Ondo State to bury their differences, reject divisive tendencies and work together to strengthen the party ahead of the 2027 elections.
The chairman said the reconciliation process was part of efforts to consolidate the party’s political structure and ensure that the APC entered future elections as a united and formidable political family.
The statement was signed by Olawale Ijanusi, popularly known as “Optimum,” Special Assistant on New Media to the APC Chairman, Ondo State, and dated July 24, 2026.
