The South West Zonal Youth Leader of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Hon. Akingbola Akintunde, popularly known as Mogbaf’OGO, has declared that the 2027 presidential election offers Nigerians a crucial opportunity to change the direction of the country, urging voters to support all APM candidates across the federation.

Akintunde made the declaration during a live radio programme in Ibadan, monitored by PalacePulse News on Friday, where he particularly canvassed support for the party’s presidential candidate, Engr. Oluseyi Makinde.
The APM chieftain, who until recently was a leading aspirant for the House of Representatives seat in Akoko North Federal Constituency, said Nigeria is going through a critical period that requires experienced and decisive leadership.
“The time to rescue Nigeria is now. We cannot continue to watch our country struggle with insecurity, economic hardship, inadequate infrastructure and food insecurity. We need leadership with experience, vision and the courage to act,” Mogbaf’OGO said.
He described Makinde as a leader capable of providing what he called “purposeful and people-centred governance,” insisting that the APM presidential candidate would aggressively confront the country’s major challenges.
Akintunde listed security, infrastructure development, economic reforms, food security and national unity among the areas he expects Makinde to prioritise.
“Seyi Makinde will work aggressively on economic reforms and infrastructure. He will give serious attention to food security and security, while also working to unite Nigerians. We need a government that will tackle these issues simultaneously,” he stated.
According to him, Nigeria has enormous economic and human potential but has failed to fully harness its resources due to poor policy implementation and weak leadership.
He said the country’s economic reforms must encourage local production, support businesses, attract investment and create employment opportunities for millions of young Nigerians.
On national unity, Mogbaf’OGO said Nigeria’s diversity should be a source of strength rather than division, adding that the next administration must deliberately promote inclusiveness and fairness.
He also highlighted youth participation in governance, insisting that young Nigerians should have a direct role in shaping the policies that will determine their future.
“Our youths are not just voters or campaign foot soldiers. They are partners in the Nigerian project. Makinde will bring youth inclusiveness into governance and create opportunities for young Nigerians to contribute meaningfully,” he said.
Akintunde therefore urged APM members and supporters to take the party’s message to the grassroots and mobilise voters across the country.
“This is bigger than party politics. It is about the Nigeria we want. If we want good governance, security, economic prosperity, food security and national unity, then Nigerians must be ready to make a bold choice,” Mogbaf’OGO declared.
He urged Nigerians to support Makinde and other APM candidates, expressing confidence that the party could provide the alternative leadership needed to move the country forward.
