…Says Oka Day Remains a Symbol of Unity, Identity and Shared Progress in Akoko South West Local Government.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Candidate for Akoko South West Constituency II in the Ondo State House of Assembly, Hon. Niran Olanusi (#IseOluwa), has heartily congratulated the Paramount Ruler of Oka Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Dr. Yusuf Adebori Adeleye, the Oka Chiefs-in-Council, and all sons and daughters of Oka at home and in the diaspora on the joyous celebration of OKA DAY 2026.
Hon. Olanusi described the annual festival as a significant cultural event that celebrates the history, customs, and enduring values of the Oka people, while strengthening the bonds of unity among communities within Akoko South West Local Government Area.
According to him, Oka Day is not only a celebration for the people of Oka but also a source of pride for the entire local government, as it reflects the rich cultural heritage and traditional excellence for which Akoko South West is renowned.
“As a fellow son of Akoko South West, I join the good people of Oka in celebrating this remarkable occasion. Oka Day is a testament to the resilience, unity and rich cultural heritage of our people. It is a festival that deserves to be celebrated by all of us because the progress of one community contributes to the growth and pride of the entire local government.”
The APC standard bearer commended HRM Oba Dr. Yusuf Adebori Adeleye for his purposeful and fatherly leadership, describing the monarch as a respected custodian of the people’s culture and traditions whose reign continues to foster peace, harmony and development within the kingdom.
He also applauded the Oka Chiefs-in-Council and the sons and daughters of Oka, both at home and abroad, for their unwavering commitment to preserving their cultural identity while contributing meaningfully to the socio-economic development of their community.
Hon. Olanusi urged the people to continue promoting peace, unity and mutual understanding among the various communities that make up Akoko South West, stressing that collective progress can only be achieved through cooperation and shared purpose.
He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting initiatives that promote community development, youth empowerment, quality education, improved infrastructure and inclusive governance across every part of Akoko South West, irrespective of political or constituency boundaries.
“As we celebrate with our brothers and sisters in Oka, may this year’s festival usher in greater peace, prosperity, good health and abundant blessings for His Royal Majesty, the Chiefs, and every son and daughter of Oka Kingdom. He concluded with the traditional festival salutation of “Aku Odun Ooo!”
