Ondo APC Hails Successful Ward Meetings Across 203 Wards, Targets One Million Votes for Tinubu
The Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed immense satisfaction with the overwhelming success of the party’s ward meetings held across all 203 wards in the state, describing the exercise as a major step towards strengthening grassroots mobilisation and consolidating the party’s readiness for the 2027 general elections.
The meetings, held in accordance with the directive of the leader of the party in the state and Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, were designed to strengthen party unity, energise members at the grassroots and establish a coordinated mobilisation structure to secure victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election and all APC candidates in the state.
The State Chairman, Hon. Kolawole Babatunde, expressed delight at the impressive turnout and encouraging feedback from across the state. He commended Governor Aiyedatiwa for his strategic leadership, inclusive approach and tireless efforts to unite party members and position the APC for electoral victory.
Babatunde noted that the Governor directed all elected officeholders and political appointees to attend the meetings and demonstrated his commitment by personally participating in his ward meeting in Ilaje Local Government Area.
He particularly appreciated the Governor for ensuring that serving members of his cabinet could participate in the exercise, acknowledging their importance as leaders and stakeholders at the ward and local government levels.
The chairman described the turnout as remarkable, especially as the meetings were held on weekdays, unlike the party’s usual weekend gatherings. He also commended the provision of logistical support that enabled members, including those travelling considerable distances, to participate.
Babatunde said the meetings marked the beginning of regular grassroots engagements that would continue until the general elections, with members expected to intensify community-level mobilisation to achieve Governor Aiyedatiwa’s target of one million votes for President Tinubu and secure victory for APC candidates across the state.
He disclosed that he would meet with the Governor within the week to present feedback from the 203 wards and discuss strategies for subsequent meetings.
The chairman praised Aiyedatiwa for working relentlessly to promote unity and a shared sense of belonging within the party, noting that the Governor had continued to invest his time and energy in securing APC victory despite not being a candidate in the forthcoming elections.
The Ondo State APC reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with Governor Aiyedatiwa to strengthen the party at the grassroots, mobilise voters across the state and deliver the promised one million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, alongside victory for all APC candidates in the forthcoming general elections.
The party noted that the successful ward meetings had demonstrated the effectiveness of Governor Aiyedatiwa’s grassroots-driven approach to party administration and reaffirmed the determination of the APC family in Ondo State to move forward with unity, purpose and a shared commitment to electoral victory.
