The Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools (ASUSS), Ondo State Chapter, has commended the Ondo State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) for the successful conduct of the 2026 promotion interview exercise for secondary school tutors across the state.

The union, in a statement signed by its State Public Relations Officer, Mr. K. Odeh, and made available to journalists in Akure, described the exercise as one of the most transparent, orderly, and professionally managed promotion processes in recent times.
ASUSS specifically lauded the Chairman of TESCOM, Dr. Oluwadaisi Oke, for his exemplary leadership and commitment to ensuring a smooth and credible exercise. The union also praised the Permanent Secretary of the Commission, Mr. Adeyemi Sule, alongside directors and members of staff, for their dedication and efficiency throughout the process.
According to the statement, the seamless conduct of the exercise reflects the commission’s determination to uphold merit, fairness, and accountability in the administration of teachers’ welfare and career progression.
The union equally appreciated executives of ASUSS and the Association of Nigerian Conference of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS) at the unit, local government, and state levels for their support and cooperation, noting that their contributions were instrumental to the success recorded.
Congratulating the successful candidates, ASUSS described the promotions as a well-earned recognition of years of commitment, sacrifice, and invaluable service to the development of education in Ondo State.
“The promotion of deserving tutors will undoubtedly enhance productivity and inspire greater dedication among teachers in the discharge of their duties,” the statement noted.
While celebrating the successful completion of the exercise, the union appealed to the state government and TESCOM authorities to ensure that the financial implications of the promotions take effect from January 2026.
ASUSS stressed that the prompt implementation of the monetary benefits would further boost the morale of tutors and serve as a fitting reward for their contributions to the state’s education system.
The union also described the successful exercise as a significant milestone for the current ASUSS administration led by the State Chairman, Comrade Amuda Tairu Abiola, JP, whose leadership and advocacy have continued to yield positive results for tutors across the state.
Furthermore, ASUSS expressed gratitude to the Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, for approving and supporting the exercise through policies that continue to prioritize the welfare of education workers.
The union concluded by thanking TESCOM, government officials, labour leaders, and all stakeholders who contributed to the success of the promotion exercise, while wishing all promoted tutors a successful and rewarding career progression.
