Akure Youths for BTO Intensifies Grassroots Mobilization, as LBW Reaffirms Support for President Tinubu Ahead of 2027

The grassroots mobilisation drive in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) gathered fresh momentum in Akure, Ondo State, as the Akure Youths for BTO movement convened a strategic meeting with leaders of its various structural sub-groups to strengthen their political engagements ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The meeting, led by the Coordinator of Akure Youths for BTO, Alhaji Adekunle Salihu, focused on expanding the movement’s grassroots reach, consolidating support for President Tinubu’s re-election bid, and reinforcing the ideals of the Renewed Hope Agenda across communities.

Addressing the gathering, Alhaji Salihu charged leaders of the affiliated groups to sustain the mobilisation campaign by reaching more residents at the ward and community levels. He urged them to remain committed to promoting the administration’s programmes and achievements while preparing their members for active participation in the forthcoming electoral process.

As part of efforts to strengthen the campaign, branded mobilisation materials were distributed to the various sub-groups to support their advocacy activities and community engagements.

Among the prominent groups represented at the meeting was the Lion of Bourdillon Waves (LBW), led by its Convener, Engr. Daniel Oke, alongside one of its principal members, Engr. Opeyemi Adeyemo. The delegation reaffirmed the LBW group’s commitment to supporting President Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC), pledging to intensify grassroots mobilisation in line with the movement’s objectives.

Speaking during the meeting, the LBW leadership commended President Tinubu for what it described as purposeful leadership and the implementation of policies aimed at repositioning Nigeria’s economy, infrastructure, security and governance under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

The group also applauded the performances of key members of the Federal Executive Council, particularly the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, for infrastructure development within the nation’s capital, and the Minister of Works, Senator David Nweze Umahi, for the ongoing road and highway projects across the country.

The LBW further expressed appreciation for the contributions of ministers from Ondo State serving in President Tinubu’s administration, highlighting Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Minister of Interior, for the ongoing reforms in the nation’s internal security architecture and correctional services; Prof. Taiwo Oyedele, Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, for his role in driving the administration’s economic policies; and Mr. Ayodele Olawande, Minister of Youth Development, for programmes targeted at youth empowerment and development.

According to the LBW group, the visible impact of these ministers has strengthened public confidence in the Tinubu administration and reinforces the need for continuity beyond 2027.

The meeting ended with a renewed resolve by the various support groups to deepen grassroots sensitisation, widen community participation and sustain advocacy efforts aimed at promoting the achievements of President Tinubu’s administration while encouraging broader support for the APC in the next general elections.
