……Says Gesture Will Strengthen Media, Information Dissemination In Ondo
The Lion of Bourdillon Waves, LBW a sociopolitical group, has commended the Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, for the donation of a Solar Power System to Positive 102.5 FM, Akure, describing the gesture as a major boost to community broadcasting and information dissemination in Ondo State.
The donation, presented under the Minister’s community service initiative tagged “Ondo Community Connect”, is aimed at ensuring uninterrupted power supply to the station and enhancing its capacity to serve listeners across the state.
In a statement signed by its National Convener, Engr. Daniel Oke, LBW said the intervention by Hon. Tunji-Ojo reflects purposeful leadership and a commitment to supporting institutions that connects directly with the people at the grassroots.
“This donation is timely and strategic. At a time when the cost of running broadcast stations is rising due to energy challenges, this solar power system will guarantee that Positive FM remains on air to inform, educate and engage the people,” LBW stated.
The group noted that Positive FM has continued to serve as a veritable platform for public engagement, political education, and community development in Ondo State, particularly through programs that promote civic awareness.
LBW further described Hon. Tunji-Ojo’s “Ondo Community Connect” program as a people-oriented initiative that is delivering practical support to institutions, youth, and communities across the state.
“Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo is not just serving at the national level, he is also remembering home. The Ondo Connect initiative is bridging the gap between government and the people. This solar donation to Positive FM is another evidence of his resolve to ensure that our people remain connected and informed,” the statement added.
LBW charged other public office holders and stakeholders to emulate the Minister’s example by investing in projects that directly impact the lives of citizens.
The group reaffirmed its support for the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and pledged to continue mobilizing grassroots support for leaders who are delivering tangible dividends of democracy.
