…donates 20 tablets, mobile phone in sustained monthly support for journalists
The Chief Press Secretary to the Ondo State Governor, Prince Adeniyan Ebenezer, has extended his monthly media empowerment initiative to members of the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ondo State Council, with the donation of 20 tablets and a mobile phone.
The presentation, which took place at the Correspondents’ Chapel office in Akure, was the latest in a series of interventions by the Governor’s spokesman aimed at supporting media practitioners and media organisations across Ondo State.
Prince Adeniyan has, over time, made the empowerment of journalists a monthly commitment, reaching different media houses and professional groups with items and support designed to ease their work and enhance professional productivity.
The latest beneficiaries, members of the Correspondents’ Chapel, received 20 tablets and a mobile phone in what observers described as another practical demonstration of the Chief Press Secretary’s deep understanding of the needs of modern-day journalists.
Speaking during the exercise, Prince Adeniyan commended the Chapel members for their professionalism and the important role they play in keeping the public informed.
He also expressed appreciation to journalists in the state for their continued efforts in projecting the programmes, policies and activities of the administration of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa
According to him, the media occupies a strategic position in governance and remains an essential partner in communicating government policies and developmental strides to the people.
Prince Adeniyan said his regular intervention in the media community was driven by his belief that journalists, who daily work to inform and educate society, deserve encouragement and support.
He assured that the monthly empowerment programme would continue to cut across media organisations in Ondo State, irrespective of their platforms or affiliations.
The gesture was warmly received by members of the Correspondents’ Chapel, who expressed gratitude to the Chief Press Secretary for extending the empowerment initiative to their members.
Beyond the donation itself, the exercise further highlights Prince Adeniyan’s growing relationship with the media community in Ondo State. As a journalist and media manager who now serves at the heart of government communication, he has continued to demonstrate that partnership with the press can go beyond official statements and press briefings.
With 20 tablets and a mobile phone handed over to the Correspondents’ Chapel, another chapter has been added to what is gradually becoming a consistent tradition of support, encouragement and empowerment for journalists across Ondo State.
