LBW COMMENDS INTERIOR MINISTER TUNJI-OJO FOR EXTENDING LIFELINE TO ONDO SOUTH FLOOD VICTIMS

The Lion of Bourdillon Waves LBW, under the leadership of the National Convener, Engr. Daniel Oke, and the LBW Ondo State Chapter, heartily commend the Honourable Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, for his timely and compassionate intervention in support of flood victims across Ondo South Senatorial District.

We describe this gesture as a true reflection of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, a government that feels the pulse of the people and responds with action, not just words.

The Minister’s decision to extend financial assistance to 1,000 victims of the recent flooding across six LGAs, Ilaje, Ese-Odo, Okitipupa, Odigbo, Irele and Ileoluji/Okeigbo, comes at a critical time when many households are displaced and struggling to rebuild their lives.

The breakdown of beneficiaries shows a deliberate and equitable coverage of the following numbers of victims, as 220 from Ilaje, 170 from Ese-Odo, 160 each from Okitipupa and Odigbo, and 130 each from Irele and Ileoluji/Okeigbo benefitted from the large heart support.

This intervention, aimed at providing immediate relief, proves that governance can be both humane and impactful.

We also commend the coordination team led by Hon. Kolade Akinjo and Hon. Mayowa Akinfolarin, former members of the House of Representatives, for ensuring transparency and speed in the disbursement. The confirmation that all beneficiaries in Ilaje and Ese-Odo received support on Monday, and that the exercise will continue in the remaining LGAs from Wednesday, August 12, giving the assurance that no victim will be left behind.

The testimonies from beneficiaries according to reports in the media, including Chief (Mrs.) Malumi Ibidun Ehuwa, praised the Minister’s concern for the welfare of the people, which further validates that this is a leadership gesture with a human face.

As a movement committed to nation building, youth engagement, and support for pro-people policies, LBW pledges to continue mobilizing citizens in support of government programs that bring real relief to the grassroots.

We urge the Minister not to relent in this humanitarian drive. The people of Ondo South have seen that the Federal Government is with them in this moment of need.
