LBW HAILS TINUBU’S HISTORIC N924BN MILITARY PAY PACKAGE, DESCRIBES IT AS A GAME-CHANGER FOR NATIONAL SECURITY

The Lion of Bourdillon Waves (LBW) has applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for approving the historic salary increase of between 30 and 80 percent for personnel of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, describing the landmark decision as a bold demonstration of responsive leadership and a major boost to the nation’s security architecture.

The President’s approval, which raises the military’s annual wage bill from ₦660 billion to ₦924 billion, is the most significant upward review of military salaries in recent years and is expected to take effect from September 1, 2026.

Speaking on behalf of members of the movement, the Convener of Lion of Bourdillon Waves (LBW), Engr. Daniel Oke, said the decision reflects President Tinubu’s deep appreciation for the sacrifices of Nigeria’s armed forces and his determination to build a motivated, better-equipped and highly professional military.

“This landmark intervention is not just a salary review; it is a powerful statement that the welfare of those who defend our nation remains a priority under the Renewed Hope Agenda. A motivated military is essential to achieving lasting peace and national development,” he said.

LBW noted that the improved remuneration would significantly enhance the morale of officers and soldiers, strengthen operational effectiveness and further reinforce ongoing efforts to combat insecurity across the country.

The group also acknowledged the contributions of members of the Federal Executive Council who continue to support the President’s vision through effective service delivery. It particularly commended the Honourable Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo (BTO), for implementing reforms that have strengthened internal security, improved correctional administration and enhanced public service delivery within the Ministry of Interior.

LBW reaffirmed its unwavering support for President Tinubu’s administration and urged Nigerians to continue supporting policies and programmes designed to secure the country, improve citizens’ welfare and accelerate national development.
