Tinubu 2027: Lion of Bourdillon Waves Roars Louder, Mobilises Professionals for Renewed Political Push

The political atmosphere in Akure received another boost on Monday as the Lion of Bourdillon Waves, a fast-growing socio-political movement made up largely of professionals, education experts and community-oriented leaders, held its fifth monthly meeting at its headquarters in Lafe, Akure.

The meeting, held on August 3, 2026, provided an opportunity for members to review the progress of the organisation, strengthen internal coordination and renew their commitment towards the political objectives of the group, particularly the re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.

Opening the meeting, the National Organising Secretary of the group, Engr. Ope Adeyemo, charged members to embrace the responsibility ahead and intensify their mobilisation activities across communities.

Adeyemo described the group as a movement driven by commitment, loyalty and service, urging members not to relent in promoting the ideals of progressive governance.

“This is a defining moment for every member of Lion of Bourdillon Waves. We must remain focused and see the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a priority. Our strength lies in our unity, our professionalism and our ability to connect with the people at the grassroots. We must continue to work with dedication and purpose,” he said.

The National Convener of the group, Engr. Babafemi Daniel Oke, while addressing members, highlighted the outcome of a recent engagement between the leadership of Lion of Bourdillon Waves and Akure for BTO, a renowned support organisation with a strong history of mobilising for President Tinubu.

Oke revealed that the meeting, which was held with the leadership of the group led by Alhaji Saliu, produced encouraging results, with a commitment to integrate Lion of Bourdillon Waves into the main support structure of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“The message from Akure for BTO is a welcome development. They have recognised our efforts and expressed their willingness to work closely with us by integrating Lion of Bourdillon Waves into the larger APC mobilisation network. This is not just an achievement; it is also a call for greater responsibility,” Oke stated.

He encouraged members to remain committed and continue projecting the image of the Tinubu led administration through peaceful mobilisation and constructive political participation.

Meanwhile, a youth leader from the Oke Ogba axis of Akure, Comrade Abiodun Famous, called on the leadership to strengthen the group’s identity through the production of more branded vests and face caps.

According to him, the materials would help members easily identify with the organisation and improve its visibility during meetings, community outreaches and political engagements.
“A movement is recognised by its identity. More vests and face caps will help members proudly associate with Lion of Bourdillon Waves and also introduce the group to more people,” he said.

The meeting which had the national secretary,Hon.Ekundayo Rotimi, popularly known as Roy, Hon.Segun Ajibola,an aide to the senate president in attendance ended on a high note, with members reaffirming their determination to expand the reach of the organisation, attract more professionals and sustain their contribution to the political development of Ondo State.

With renewed energy and a stronger network, the Lion of Bourdillon Waves is set to play a more visible role as political activities ahead of 2027 continue to gather momentum.
