HOMECOMING OF GRATITUDE: ONDO CPS, PRINCE ADENIYAN, RENOVATES THE HOPE NEWSROOM

In a remarkable display of gratitude and commitment to the journalism profession, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Ondo State, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, has renovated the newsroom of The Hope newspaper, the media organisation where he began his career more than two decades ago.

The gesture, which has been widely applauded by journalists and media practitioners, is another reflection of Prince Adeniyan’s long-standing support for the media industry and the development of young professionals in the field of journalism.

The newly renovated newsroom at the Ondo State Printing and Publishing Corporation, formerly known as Owena Press Limited, received a much-needed facelift, creating a more conducive environment for journalists and other media personnel to carry out their duties effectively.

Speaking on the motivation behind the project, Prince Adeniyan recalled how he started his journalism career at The Hope newspaper 26 years ago as an intern and went on to spend nine memorable years with the organisation.

During his time at the newspaper, he served in several capacities, including Government House Correspondent, Chief Sub-Editor, Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Chapel and President of the Cooperative Society.

According to him, the newsroom remains the heart of every media establishment and occupies a special place in his life because of the invaluable experiences and opportunities it offered him at the formative stage of his career.

“This was where everything began for me. The newsroom gave me unforgettable memories and provided the platform upon which I built my career. It is only fitting for me to give something back and contribute my quota towards improving the working environment,” he said.

Prince Adeniyan further expressed his appreciation to the management and staff members of the organisation for the role they played in shaping his professional journey, while expressing the hope that greater opportunities would emerge for the institution in the years ahead.

Many journalists have described the development as an uncommon demonstration of humility, loyalty and generosity, noting that Prince Adeniyan has consistently distinguished himself as a strong supporter of media organisations and practitioners within and outside Ondo State.

Observers have also pointed out that his latest intervention once again demonstrates that true leadership is not measured merely by words but by meaningful actions.

As the Yoruba people often say, a river never forgets its source. In the same way, Prince Adeniyan’s gesture serves as a powerful reminder that no matter how far one travels in life, one should never forget the place where the journey began.
