In a grand celebration that drew Nigeria’s political elite and cultural icons, Hon. Tomisin Edu Falade was among the prominent entourage of the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, as she was installed with the prestigious title of Yeye Asiwaju Gbogbo Ile Yoruba.
The colourful event took place in Ile-Ife, Osun State, as part of the 10th coronation anniversary of the revered monarch, Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II.
The ceremony was graced by traditional rulers, political leaders, captains of industry, and cultural enthusiasts from across the country. It was a momentous occasion celebrating tradition, honour and national unity.
Hon. Tomisin Edu Falade, a House of Representatives hopeful and one of the rising voices in the South West political landscape, used the event to commend the First Lady’s passion for cultural heritage and her continuous support for women’s empowerment. She also seized the opportunity to solicit massive support for the second term bid of the President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing him as a true son of Yoruba land whose first term has brought renewed hope to Nigeria.
Speaking at the sidelines of the event, Hon. Tomisin stated: “Today is not only a celebration of royalty and culture but a testimony to the strength and influence of Yoruba women in leadership. The First Lady’s honour is well deserved, and as loyal foot soldiers of Mr. President, we must rally round to ensure his second term is sealed by the will of the people.”
She added that the unity and power on display at Ile-Ife reflects the strength of the South West and urged all Yoruba sons and daughters to stand by the current administration for continuity and greater development.
