The Ondo State Government has declared Saturday, November 29, 2025, as the date for the monthly environmental sanitation exercise across the state, with a strict restriction of movement between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.

This was contained in a public statement signed by the Acting General Manager of the Ondo State Waste Management Authority, Mr. Olajumbu Adekunle.
According to the release, residents are strongly encouraged to fully participate in the cleanup activities by clearing drainages, desilting gutters, removing refuse and cutting overgrown weeds in their surroundings.
The government emphasized that the sanitation effort is aimed at promoting a cleaner, healthier and disease free environment for all.
Reiterating the state’s commitment to environmental hygiene, the Honourable Commissioner for Environment, Dr. Tob Loko, called for cooperation from residents across all 18 local government areas.
“The success of the exercise depends on the active participation of everyone. We urge citizens to take ownership of their immediate environment,” Dr. Loko said.
The restriction of movement applies to both human and vehicular traffic during the designated hours, and law enforcement agencies have been directed to ensure compliance.
