In the political history of Akoko North East/North West Federal Constituency, one fact remains sacred, the rotational agreement.

An agreement that was birthed in wisdom, nurtured in equity, and sealed in honour by revered elders and stakeholders from both local governments.
This historic pact, which was formally signed at Ogbagi under the leadership of the late statesman, popularly known as Baba Falade, was meant to ensure fairness, balance, and unity in the political representation of the Akoko people.
However, in recent years, that very agreement has come under threat. Some powerful political players, mostly from outside the constituency and with interests rooted in Abuja, have attempted to override this noble accord, for selfish gain.
The consequences?
A widening crack in the unity of Akoko land, distrust among communities, and a brewing political imbalance.
It is against this background, that the name Hon. Jimoh Bakare emerges, not just as a contender, but as a beacon of hope, fairness, and capable representation for the people of Akoko North/West.
A proud and distinguished son of Ikare Akoko, Bar. Jimoh Bakare is not new to the needs, struggles, and aspirations of his people.
He has been a silent achiever, quietly empowering his community, sponsoring education initiatives, supporting widows and youths, and building bridges of hope across party and ethnic divides.
His decision to contest for the House of Representatives is not born out of personal ambition, but a deep seated desire to revive the forgotten promises of the balanced political participation abinitio.
He represents not just Ikare Akoko, but a generation that believes in fairness, performance, and people driven leadership.
It is clear that the incumbent representative, has fallen short of the expectations of the people.
Constituents are asking hard questions:
Where are the projects?
Where is the constituency engagement?
What tangible impacts have been made in various sectors such as education, infrastructure, or youth empowerment?
The answers are few and far in between, and the demand for change is loud and growing.
Hon. Jimoh Bakare is the answer. He brings with him, not just a respected name, but a tested character, a passion for service, and a track record that speaks louder than any campaign slogan.
He understands the importance of accessibility, transparency, and grassroots engagement. He is a man of action, not empty promises.
As the 2027 elections approach, it is time for Akoko to revisit that noble agreement and uphold the values of justice and unity.
It is time to tell the Abuja politicians, that Akoko’s destiny cannot be manipulated from afar. It is time to rally around a candidate who will fight for the interest of the people and that candidate is Hon. Jimoh Bakare.
Let the call go out from Ogbagi to Ikare, from Okeagbe to Irun, let us honour the agreement, restore fairness, and elect Hon. Jimoh Bakare for a better and stronger Akoko!
CONCERNED AKOKO CITIZEN.
