Dr. Barrister Olumuyiwa Adu, popularly known as “Cubana,” has formally obtained his Nomination and Expression of Interest forms, confirming his entry into the race to represent Ondo Central Senatorial District on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The development, confirmed by his media aide, Kehinde Omoniyi, puts to rest months of speculation surrounding Adu’s ambition and signals the commencement of his formal participation in the contest. Omoniyi disclosed that the aspirant is in high spirits and will proceed to submit the completed forms upon the conclusion of the documentation process.
Speaking shortly after obtaining the forms, Adu said his decision to run was in response to sustained calls from party stakeholders and constituents across the district. He expressed confidence in his chances, describing his aspiration as one driven by party loyalty, grassroots connection, and a commitment to purposeful representation.
The legal practitioner and philanthropist highlighted his longstanding involvement in community development, particularly in the areas of youth empowerment, women’s inclusion, and grassroots support initiatives. He noted that his professional background and exposure to governance issues position him to effectively represent Ondo Central at the National Assembly.
Outlining his vision, Adu pledged to tackle unemployment, bridge infrastructural deficits, and stimulate economic growth through impactful legislation and people oriented constituency projects. He also emphasized the importance of improving access to quality education, strengthening healthcare delivery systems, and advancing policies that promote sustainable development.
As part of his early legislative agenda, the aspirant promised to launch empowerment programmes targeting no fewer than 1,000 constituents within his first 100 days in office, when elected. According to him, the initiative will focus on skills acquisition, small business support, and job creation to enhance livelihoods across the district.
His declaration has continued to generate notable interest among party members and residents, with supporters expressing optimism that his candidacy could bolster the APC’s prospects in the 2027 general elections, citing his popularity and sustained engagement with the grassroots.
