The Lion of Bourdillon Waves (LBW), a socio-political movement committed to promoting progressive leadership and good governance, has commended the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, for what it described as his growing political influence and remarkable contributions to the development of Ondo State.
In a statement, the group said Tunji-Ojo, popularly known as BTO, has continued to distinguish himself as one of the most influential political figures in Ondo State despite serving in a federal capacity under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
LBW noted that the minister’s political strength was evident during the 2024 Ondo State governorship election, where he delivered an overwhelming 81.2 percent of the votes for the APC in Akoko North West Local Government Area, one of the party’s strongest performances across the state’s 18 local government areas.
The group also highlighted Tunji-Ojo’s strategic leadership on the national stage, recalling his role as the Director-General of the successful campaign that produced Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas as Speaker of the House of Representatives, describing the feat as evidence of his political acumen and ability to build consensus.
According to LBW, Tunji-Ojo has demonstrated an uncommon commitment to grassroots development through impactful initiatives that transcend the responsibilities of his federal office. The group cited his intervention in establishing digital technology hubs across the 18 local government areas of Ondo State and the distribution of learning materials to more than 120,000 primary school pupils, among other community needs provision in different communities, under the “Ondo Connect Initiative” describing the projects as investments in the future of the state.
The group stated that these achievements have earned the minister widespread admiration and reinforced his standing as a dependable progressive leader whose influence continues to grow within the All Progressives Congress (APC) and beyond.
LBW urged political leaders and public office holders to emulate Tunji-Ojo’s style of leadership, emphasizing that purposeful governance, strategic vision, and consistent delivery of people-oriented projects remain the hallmarks of enduring political relevance.
The group reaffirmed its support for leaders who advance the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu while delivering tangible dividends of democracy to their constituents, describing Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo as one of the administration’s shining examples of effective and impactful leadership.
