The leadership of the Ondo State Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools (ASUSS), under the stewardship of Comrade Amuda Tairu Abiola, has received another vote of confidence following glowing commendation from Comrade Adojutelegan Adesoji A., popularly known as Aridunu.
Comrade Adojutelegan, who is the Unit Chairman and Chief of Staff to the State ASUSS Chairman, gave the commendation while presenting a copy of the Akure South I ASUSS Journal to the Principal of CAC Grammar School, Akure, Dr. Oluboyo.
He said the presentation was aimed at showcasing the activities, achievements and renewed vision of the union, adding that the current administration has brought a new wave of hope to teachers across Ondo State.
According to him, the State Executive Council has demonstrated uncommon commitment to the welfare of teachers through prompt and decisive actions. He noted that the union played a key role in facilitating the release of the kidnapped teacher at Imafon, describing the intervention as a clear demonstration of responsive leadership.
He further highlighted the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding with the Federal Mortgage Bank, which has opened housing opportunities for both serving and retired teachers, as one of the landmark achievements of the administration. He also applauded the introduction of the OndoPay App, which has simplified access to payslips for teachers throughout the state.
Comrade Adojutelegan also praised the ongoing construction of a befitting ASUSS State Secretariat and the statewide familiarization tour embarked upon by the leadership, describing both initiatives as evidence of a union committed to institutional growth, unity and members’ welfare.
Declaring that “ASUSS is alive again,” he stressed that exceptional leadership deserves recognition. Quoting the Yoruba proverb, “Bi ẹ̀gún ẹni bá jọ̀rẹ́, ká wí,” he said every good deed should be acknowledged to encourage greater service.
He congratulated Comrade Amuda Tairu Abiola and members of the State Executive Council for what he described as their impressive performance in office, expressing optimism that the administration would continue to record greater achievements in its quest to improve the welfare and professional well-being of teachers across Ondo State.
The presentation of the ASUSS Journal further underscored the union’s commitment to promoting transparency, documenting its achievements and keeping members informed of ongoing initiatives.
