As Nigeria marks 27 years of unbroken democracy in the Fourth Republic this June 12, the Lion of Bourdillon Waves LBW has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and Nigerians at home and in the diaspora, describing the milestone as proof that democracy, though imperfect, remains the best path for national growth and unity.
In a Democracy Day statement signed by the LBW National Coordinator Engr. Daniel Oke, the group said President Tinubu’s leadership in the last three years has given fresh meaning to the “Renewed Hope Agenda” through courageous reforms, infrastructure delivery, and a renewed focus on accountability.
“From Day One, PBAT chose the difficult but right path. Subsidy removal, exchange rate unification, tax reforms, student loan rollout, and massive road and rail projects are not quick fixes. They are foundation laying decisions for a stronger Nigeria. Today, we see increased revenue to states, renewed investor confidence, and a government that listens and acts,” LBW stated.
The group commended the President’s team of technocrats and ministers for translating policies into visible impact across sectors. It specifically highlighted strides in security coordination, energy sector reforms, digitalization of government services, and youth focused programs that are expanding opportunities for millions of Nigerians.
“Democracy at 27 means we have survived coups, divisions, and doubts. Under President Tinubu, we are moving from survival to progress. His team embodies competence, data driven governance, and the spirit of ‘no excuses’ that Nigerians demanded,” the group added.
LBW urged Nigerians to use June 12 as a moment of reflection and recommitment to nation building. It called on youths, civil society, and community leaders to defend democratic institutions, reject politics of bitterness, and support policies that secure the future.
“Asiwaju started the hard work, the results are emerging, for continuity, stability and lasting prosperity, Nigerians must stand firm with PBAT and the Renewed Hope Agenda. This is our democracy. This is our time,” LBW declared.
The group prayed for long life, wisdom and strength for Mr. President, while celebrating the sacrifices of past heroes who fought for the democracy Nigerians enjoy today.
