Xmas freebies: OSF knocks self-styled ‘APC Youth Vanguard’, defends Aiyedatiwa

The Ondo Solidarity Forum has issued a strongly worded rebuttal to claims made by a self-styled group, “APC Youth Vanguard,” accusing Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, of selective distribution of Christmas palliatives and alleged political marginalisation.

In a press briefing held in Akure on Thursday, the President of the Forum, Obadofin Ademola, dismissed the group as “non-existent, unrecognised by the party’s constitution, and lacking any political relevance in Ondo State.”

Obadofin said the so-called APC Youth Vanguard is merely a faceless front for desperate politicians outside the state, bent on stirring unrest in a state that remains one of the most politically peaceful in Nigeria.

Reacting to the allegations that Governor Aiyedatiwa distributed rice palliatives selectively, the Forum clarified that the Governor distributed 100 bags of rice per local government across the entire state, cutting across all political divides and ethnic lines.

“Let them tell us, did their paymaster ever share rice during Christmas last year or the years before?

“Why is it suddenly now, after the Governor has done the needful, that someone is rushing to do PR giveaways?” Obadofin queried.

He further stated that Governor Aiyedatiwa has done what no governor has done before by placing all ward executive members across the 203 wards in the state on monthly salary, regardless of faction or loyalty.

“The Governor is the father of all in the state.

“He is not in any supremacy contest with anyone.

“His interest is the development of Ondo State, not media propaganda,” the Forum said.

Obadofin also cautioned those sponsoring attacks against the Governor from Abuja, urging them to focus on the national responsibilities given to them.

“We want to remind them that God gives power and elevates leaders, not sponsored media wars or pull-him-down games. Governance is not a show of ego or muscle-flexing,” the Forum concluded.

The Ondo Solidarity Forum, known for its years of consistent civic engagement and monitoring of governance in the state, reaffirmed its full support for Governor Aiyedatiwa’s administration and called on all peace-loving citizens to reject distractions and support ongoing developmental efforts.
