TAMPAN Ondo Governor Congratulates National Body Ahead of World Theatre Day 2026

The Governor of Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), Ondo State Chapter, Basorun Aderemi Kamala, has extended warm congratulations to the national body of the association ahead of the 2026 World Theatre Day celebration.

In a special message released on Thursday, Kamala commended Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN Global) for what he described as “grand preparations” for this year’s event.

World Theatre Day 2026, themed “Theatre as a Tool for Peace, Security and National Unity,” is expected to attract professional theatre practitioners from across Nigeria and around the world.

The celebration is scheduled to hold on Friday, March 27, 2026, at Ikeja Airport Hotel in Ikeja, Lagos State.

Kamala described the upcoming event as a testament to the strength, unity, and global recognition of the theatre profession, noting that the convergence of distinguished delegates would mark a historic and unforgettable celebration of creativity, culture, and artistic excellence.

The Ondo State TAMPAN Governor offered prayers for the association’s national leadership, including President Bolaji Amusan (Otunba Dr. Bolaji Amusan JP, popularly known as Mr Latin); Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Adebayo Salami (Yah Sheu Alhaji Otunba Dr. Adebayo Salami, Oga Bello); Secretary of the Board of Trustees, Jide Kosoko; Deputy President, Rose Aduke Odika; and National General Secretary, Sunday Alabi Osibata.

He also acknowledged members of the National Executive Council, the National Central Working Committee, and the World Theatre Day Celebration Committee, praying for wisdom, strength, unity of purpose, and continued success for the leadership.

Kamala further expressed appreciation to Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Minister for Interior and TAMPAN Man of the Year, for his support and commitment to the growth of the association on the global stage.

He prayed for divine strength and outstanding success in the minister’s public service, expressing hope that his contributions would continue to bring honour and progress to the nation and the creative industry.

Concluding his message, Kamala prayed for a peaceful, impactful, and successful World Theatre Day 2026 celebration that would unite practitioners worldwide and further elevate the dignity of theatre arts across nations.

He reaffirmed his commitment to the association and expressed optimism about the continued growth of TAMPAN at both state and national levels.
