SHOW OF SHAME AT ONDO@50 AS GOVERNOR’S AIDES ALLEGEDLY TRADE BLOWS BEFORE DIGNITARIES

There was commotion at the Ondo state sport complex on Tuesday,3 February 2025, during activities marking the Ondo State 50th anniversary, qfollowing an alleged physical altercation involving aides to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

According to an anonymous source who spoke with our correspondent, Hon. Gani Mohammed Ajowa, Special Adviser to the Governor on Strategy and Special Duties, was allegedly beaten during a scuffle with Otunba Ayodele Adeleye, a Special Assistant reportedly assigned to his office.

The source claimed that the two aides have been at loggerheads since their inception in office , with their long-standing disagreement allegedly rooted in disputes over the sharing formula of funds said to be generated from Okada riders and Keke Napep operators.

These claims, however, could not be independently verified as of press time.

Eyewitnesses described the incident as a “show of shame,” noting that the confrontation occurred in full view of dignitaries and guests who had gathered at the stadium for the Ondo@50 celebrations.

Some attendees were said to have expressed shock that such an incident could unfold at a high-profile state event.

Hon. Ajowa had in the past, courted controversy within government circles. You will recall that he was previously accused of painting the state government in a bad light and was also alleged to have forcefully broken into the office of a top ranking government official in a bid to occupy the space for himself, an allegation that generated tension at the time and was reported by Palace Pulse.

As of the time of filing this report, the Ondo State Government had not issued any official statement regarding the alleged incident at the stadium or the claims surrounding it.

Efforts to reach the parties involved for comments were unsuccessful.

The public now awaits an official reaction from the state government as investigations into the alleged fracas continue.
