A member of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Hon. Nelson Akinsuroju, has called on his constituents in ileoluji/Okeigbo, residents of Ondo State and Nigerians at large to embrace unity, deep reflection, and compassion as the sacred seasons of Ramadan and Lent commence.

In a goodwill message released on Tuesday, the lawmaker described both Ramadan and Lent as spiritually significant periods that encourage self-discipline, sacrifice, and renewed commitment to moral values. He noted that although observed by Muslims and Christians respectively, the seasons share universal lessons capable of strengthening social harmony and peaceful coexistence.
Hon. Akinsuroju urged citizens to use the period for sincere prayers for Ondo State and the nation, emphasizing the need for collective responsibility in promoting peace, tolerance, and mutual understanding across religious and cultural lines.
He further encouraged acts of charity and kindness, particularly toward the vulnerable, stressing that compassion remains a cornerstone of both faith traditions. According to him, extending love and support to neighbors and strangers alike reflects the true spirit of the holy seasons.
The lawmaker reaffirmed his commitment to policies and initiatives that foster unity and inclusive development, expressing optimism that the reflective atmosphere of Ramadan and Lent would inspire citizens toward positive action and community building.
He wished Muslim and Christian faithful a spiritually fulfilling observance and prayed that the lessons of sacrifice and renewal would translate into lasting peace and progress for the state and the country.
