The suspension of Hon. Olarewaju, Chairman of Ward 8 of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has sparked a heated political drama after it was reported by multiple online news platforms last week.

Hon. Olarewaju, who was allegedly suspended by some members of the APC at the ward level, has vehemently denied the move, calling it “illegal” and asserting that his suspension was not in accordance with party rules.
Speaking exclusively to PalacePulse News, Hon. Olarewaju claimed that his suspension was orchestrated by a faction within the ward, led by Governor Ayedatiwa’s aide, Hon. Fadairo.
The embattled chairman revealed that he, in turn, had suspended Hon. Fadairo along with the new acting chairman of Ward 8.
According to Olarewaju, the decision was taken by 11 members of the Ward Executive Committee (Excos), whom, he said, were united in their stance against what they called “a partisan political move to disrupt the harmony of the party.”
“I stand by the decision to suspend Hon. Fadairo and the purported new acting chairman. The actions taken against me are unlawful and do not represent the collective will of the party members in Ward 8,” Hon. Olarewaju stated.
However, Hon. Fesobi, the Local Government APC Chairman, has firmly countered Olarewaju’s claims. In a chat with PalacePulse News, Hon. Fesobi called the suspension of Hon. Olarewaju by the Fadairo led group “illegal,” reiterating that the party has established rules and guidelines for any suspension or disciplinary actions.
“Hon. Olarewaju’s suspension does not adhere to the APC’s prescribed process. The party’s leadership remains committed to upholding order and respect for its structures,” Hon. Fesobi explained. “We will be calling a stakeholders’ meeting tomorrow to address the situation.
Our goal is to find a resolution that restores peace and harmony among all aggrieved parties and to ensure that the integrity of the APC in Ward 8 is maintained.”
Tensions have been high in the local APC as conflicting factions continue to clash over leadership control.
The party’s internal struggle has drawn attention across the region, with supporters of both sides rallying for their respective leaders.
As the political drama unfolds, all eyes will be on the upcoming stakeholders’ meeting. It remains to be seen whether the differences within the party can be resolved or if further divisions will emerge in the days ahead.
