ONDO MEDIA PERSONALITY LARRY COLE LAMENTS HOUSING ORDEAL, SPARKS ONLINE REACTIONS

A popular Akure based media personality, Olarewaju Akogun, widely known as Larry Cole, has taken to his verified Facebook page to publicly express his frustration over what he described as a prolonged and distressing housing ordeal in the Ondo State capital.

In a post that has since attracted widespread attention, Larry Cole disclosed that he was evicted from his residence by his landlady over six months ago and has been struggling to secure a new accommodation since then.

According to him, his efforts have been repeatedly frustrated by house agents in Akure, whom he accused of collecting money with promises of securing him a “better accommodation,” only for such promises to yield no result, despite their several service charges, tagged “inspection fees”.

The media personality lamented that despite his popularity and years qof service to Ondo State through his professional engagements, he is yet to build a personal house of his own.

He described the situation as emotionally draining and disheartening, especially considering his contributions to the state.

“I have been running from one agent to another, paying money and hearing stories,” he wrote, adding that the experience has left him deeply frustrated and disappointed.

Larry Cole’s post quickly drew reactions from Facebook users, many of whom expressed sympathy and pity over his situation.

Several commenters shared similar experiences, accusing some house agents in Akure of sharp practices and exploitation of desperate house seekers.

Others called on relevant authorities and professional bodies to regulate the activities of these estate agents in the city.

The development has once again ignited public criticism of house agents in Akure, with renewed calls for transparency, accountability, and proper regulation in the real estate sector to protect residents from alleged exploitation.

Just yesterday (Tuesday), Palace Pulse reported about a protest by a set people in Akure, the state capital over this same trend of house agents exploiting prospective tenants.

As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official response from any association of house agents in Akure or the State Government regarding the allegations raised.
