A prominent figure within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Hon. Smart Omodunbi Jr., has officially announced his intention to contest for the party’s chairmanship in the state, outlining a vision centred on unity, stability and forward looking leadership.
Speaking on his aspiration, Omodunbi said his decision stems from years of active involvement in the party’s evolution and a firm belief that the moment calls for steady, experienced, and effective guidance. He noted that he has been deeply embedded in the party’s organisational journey, contributing to its structures and internal engagements from its early days to the present.
According to him, the APC in Ondo stands at a pivotal point where strengthening internal harmony and reinforcing party discipline are vital to sustaining its electoral strength. He stressed that effective leadership must recognise the sacrifices of long standing members, while also embracing emerging voices within the fold.
Omodunbi maintained that his familiarity with the party’s traditions and operational framework places him in a strong position to foster collaboration across different interests. He pledged to promote inclusive decision making, protect the integrity of the party institutions and ensure that no segment of the membership feels marginalised.
Referencing the importance of strong foundations, he emphasised the need to safeguard the core values upon which the party was built. He described his bid as a commitment to service, aimed at consolidating past achievements, rebuilding confidence among stakeholders and preparing the APC in Ondo State for sustained unity and electoral victories in future contests.
