••• “Make the people suffer, you’ll suffer too,” Afod warns Ipinsagba, Adelegbe, council boss

Nollywood actor, Kunle Afod, has publicly called out Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, alongside other political leaders, over the alleged neglect of critical road infrastructure in Ose Local Government Area of the state.
In a viral video, Afod expressed deep frustration over the deteriorating condition of major roads linking communities in Ose to neighboring areas and states, describing the situation as “as bad as death.”
He also called out the Chairman of Ose Local Government, Ondo North Senator, Jide Ipinsagba, and the member of the House of Representatives representing Owo/Ose Federal Constituency, Timehin Adelegbe accusing them of turning a blind eye to the plight of residents.
“I want to talk to you like a brother to another brother, like a son to a father,” Afod said, maintaining a respectful tone while demanding urgent intervention.
The actor lamented that despite repeatedly raising concerns, his appeals had been ignored.
“This is my fourth video. You pretended as if you never listened… you turned a deaf ear to all I’ve been saying,” he stated.
Afod highlighted that roads linking Idoani and other communities have been abandoned or have deteriorated beyond use, making movement extremely difficult for residents.
“Oba Akoko road has been abandoned, two have been seriously dilapidated beyond repair. It is as bad as death,” he said.
According to him, the poor state of the roads has worsened insecurity in the area, as kidnappers have allegedly taken advantage of the situation.
“Kidnappers have turned the place to their den. They are bold… because people cannot drive through the road freely and smoothly,” he added.
He listed several affected routes, including those connecting through Ifira, Oba Akoko and other adjoining corridors, noting that the communities risk economic and social isolation if urgent action is not taken.
“Do you want those towns to cease to exist or go into extinction?” he queried.
Afod acknowledged that the current administration might not have been responsible for the initial deterioration of the roads but insisted that continued neglect is unacceptable.
“It might not be your government when the road started getting bad, but now that you are in power… you should do what is right,” he said.
The actor also decried the lack of basic amenities in the area, revealing that some communities in Ose Local government have been without electricity for nearly nine years.
“The day I complained, they gave them light for just two hours and took it back. It means they have the capability… somebody is frustrating the process,” he alleged.
He further lamented the state of education infrastructure, citing the Federal Government College, Idoani, which he said remains largely inaccessible due to poor road conditions.
“The last time a prominent figure, Senator Natasha visited that school, she had to go by helicopter. That tells you how bad the road is,” he said.
Afod added that many schools in the local government have deteriorated, questioning the commitment of authorities to the welfare of residents.
He also revealed that indigenes in the diaspora have reached out to him, urging the government to address the situation.
“They have been calling me… begging you to develop the roads linking those areas,” he noted.
While maintaining that he would not resort to insults, Afod issued a stern warning to the leaders.
“After this video, if you don’t do anything, I will be mentioning your names one after the other,” he said.
He also called on prominent indigenes of Ose Local Government, including singer Yemi Alade and actress Shola Sobowale, to lend their voices to the cause.
“Let’s call on our government so that they can listen. It is too much,” he urged.
Afod appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to ensure that federal roads in the area are rehabilitated, stressing that residents of Ose LG have not felt the impact of government at any level.
“Those in Ose Local Government have never felt the dividends of this government… let those you put in power do the right thing so they will not spoil your name,” he said.
He concluded by urging Governor Aiyedatiwa and other stakeholders to act swiftly to alleviate the suffering of the people.
“Don’t make them suffer so that God will not make you suffer,” he warned.
