It was a day of joy, gratitude, and emotional celebration as parents, students, and well wishers gathered to express heartfelt appreciation to Hon. Tomisin Edu Falade, House of Representatives hopeful for Akure North/South Federal Constituency, for awarding full university scholarships to two brilliant students from the constituency.
The beneficiaries, Oluwagbemiga Joseph and Feranmi (surname withheld), both gained admission into Adeleke University and were selected for the scholarship based on their academic excellence and dedication to learning.
At a small but touching event held in Akure, parents of the beneficiaries were overwhelmed with emotion, describing Hon. Tomisin Edu Falade as “a rare gem and a blessing to our generation.” They said the scholarship came at a time when the economic burden of funding a university education seemed impossible to bear.
“I don’t have enough words,” said Mr. Joseph, father of Oluwagbemiga. “Hon. Tomisin didn’t just pay school fees, she restored our hope in the future of our children. May God continue to uplift her.”Feranmi, also expressed her gratitude, saying: “This scholarship has changed my life. I promise to make Hon. Tomisin proud and also give back to others one day, just like she has done for us.”
Speaking through her media aide, Hon. Tomisin Edu Falade reaffirmed her commitment to education, youth development, and community upliftment. She noted that quality education remains one of the strongest tools for lifting young people out of poverty and giving them a chance to contribute meaningfully to society.
“I didn’t do this for praise,” she said. “I did it because I know how it feels to struggle and still want to succeed.
Every child deserves a chance. Oluwagbemiga and Feranmi represent the brilliance in our constituency, and I’m proud to be a part of their journey.”
Community leaders, youth groups, and educational stakeholders present at the event praised Hon. Tomisin for her continued support of educational initiatives and called on other political aspirants to emulate her noble gesture.
