— Presents Brand-New Bus to the Legislative Council

The Executive Chairman of Akoko South-West Local Government Area, Hon. Ayo Ajana, has officially presented brand-new vehicles to traditional rulers and a new bus to the Legislative Council. This initiative aims to strengthen grassroots governance, deepen community engagement, and enhance administrative efficiency across the local government area.
The presentation ceremony, held at the Akoko South-West LG Council Secretariat, attracted a diverse gathering of stakeholders, including senior local government officials, party executives, traditional rulers, and community members. Many described the event as a landmark step towards improving mobility and service delivery within both the traditional institution and the legislative arm.
In his address, Hon. Ayo Ajana expressed gratitude to God for the ongoing developmental strides in Akoko South-West Local Government Area and extended heartfelt appreciation to the Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, for his steadfast support of traditional institutions and grassroots development, particularly in Akoko South-West.
Acknowledging the Governor’s past efforts to enhance grassroots governance, Hon. Ayo Ajana also commended him for approving the purchase of Hilux vehicles to all 18 local government chairmen, six principal officers across all LGAs, and LCDA chairmen statewide, a gesture he described as a testament to visionary leadership and dedicated drive to strengthening local governance across Ondo State.
The Chairman emphasised that the newly presented vehicles are intended to enhance mobility, efficiency, and productivity, particularly in peacekeeping, community engagement, and maintaining order within the domains of the royal fathers. He reaffirmed that supporting the traditional institution remains a central pillar of his administration’s development agenda.
Speaking on behalf of all royal fathers, HRM Oba Adebori Adeleye, OON, the Olubaka of Oka Akoko, described the occasion as historic and profoundly significant for grassroots governance in Ondo State. He expressed deep appreciation to Governor Aiyedatiwa and Hon. Ayo Ajana for honouring and empowering the traditional institution.
The monarch praised the Governor as a compassionate and responsive leader who consistently prioritises the welfare of traditional rulers. He assured that the royal fathers remain committed to supporting the administrations of both the Governor and the Chairman.
HRM Oba Adebori Adeleye, OON, also commended Hon. Ayo Ajana for his numerous infrastructural projects across Akoko South-West. These include the grading of roads across all 15 wards, rehabilitation and reticulation of the solar-powered borehole at Korowa Oka, construction of two single-cell box culverts at Owase/Iboje Quarters, and the filling and grading of Imesi Road in Supare Akoko, among other projects aimed at promoting sustainable development.
During the ceremony, Hon. Ayo Ajana emphasised that the newly installed monarch of Akungba Akoko, the Alale of Akungba Akoko, would be provided with a brand-new vehicle just as the others had received. The delay occurred because his installation took place after the vehicles had already been ordered for. Hon. Ayo Ajana assured the Alale and all attendees that the local government is awaiting delivery of his vehicle in due course, and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting every traditional ruler in Akoko South-West Local Government Area. He therefore appealed to other communities in the local government that are currently under Regency rule to quickly resolve their chieftaincy matters so that they too could benefit from the government’s largess.
The ceremony was attended by LCDA Chairman Hon. Ayo John Emmanuel, Vice Chairman Hon. Sakara Theo, Secretary to the Local Government Hon. Olumide Sidiku, Leader of the Legislative Arm Hon. Ahmed Giwa, all councillors, Mrs M.O. Akande (DGSA), supervisory councillors, senior special assistants and special assistants to the Chairman, APC ward chairmen, women leaders, and religious leaders.
