In a colourful blend of cultures and traditions, the serene city of Akure, the Ondo State Capital, played host to a spectacular wedding ceremony, as renowned legal luminary from Akure in Ondo State, Bashorun Ifedayo Adams Adedipe, SAN, gave his beloved daughter’s hand Gbemisola Adedipe in marriage to Kingsley Bassey, a distinguished and royal son of Akwa Ibom State.
The ceremony, which took place over the weekend, was a beautiful blend of culture, that showcased the Yoruba and Ibibio heritage, symbolising unity, respect, and the strength of cultural diversity.
Dignitaries from across the country, including leaders in the legal profession, politics, traditional institutions, and business circles, were in attendance, among whom were the Chairman of the occasion and former Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, who charged the couple to love themselves and make communication one of their watchwords, to enable them grow in love and harmony.
Legal Luminaries like Chief Wole Olanipekun SAN, Remi Olatubora SAN, Ondo State Attorney General, Kayode Ajulo SAN, Ayo Adedipe SAN, among other legal professionals graced the occasion, in honour of one of their own.
Royal Fathers at the event were the Deji of Akure Kingdom, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, Odundun II and the Ogoga of Ikere Ekiti His Royal Majesty Oba Samuel Adejimi Adu Alagbado Agirilala II, and other eminent citizens, were in attendance, as music was supplied by Dr. Yinka Ayefele MON and his Merry Makers Band.
The father of the bride, Bashorun Ifedayo Adedipe, SAN, expressed immense joy as he joined families, friends, and well wishers to bless the union. “This is not just a wedding; it is a union of cultures and values, rooted in love and mutual respect,” he remarked.
