The Executive Chairman of Akure South Local Government, Hon. Dr Fasua Gbenga Timothy, commemorated his first year in office with an official outreach to selected secondary schools across the Local Government Area.
The programme commenced at CAC Grammar School in Akure, the alma mater of Hon. Mrs Fasua Bosede, who led the delegation.
She expressed heartfelt appreciation to the school management for the warm reception and presented educational materials and support items to enhance teaching and learning.
The delegation proceeded to Army Comprehensive High School, where they were received by the Principal, Mrs Olaoba.
Other schools visited included Omoluorogbo Grammar School, welcomed by Principal Mrs Orimaye; Akure Secondary Commercial School; and St. Michael’s Grammar School, where the delegation was received by Principal Dr Mrs. Ashaimo.
At Ijo Mimo Oluwa High School, the Head Girl, Miss Arogun Success, delivered a vote of thanks on behalf of the students, expressing appreciation for the visit and the support provided.
The Vice Principal (Administration), Dr Mrs. Olayiwola, commended the Local Government for its sustained commitment to advancing educational development.
During the outreach, Hon. Mrs Fasua Bosede reaffirmed the administration’s dedication to promoting quality education, encouraging academic excellence, and strengthening collaboration with local schools.
She emphasized that education remains a cornerstone of grassroots development and sustainable community growth.
Other dignitaries in attendance included the Wife of the Vice Chairman, Hon. Mrs Folake Adebayo; Special Adviser on Gender, Hon. Mrs Omolara Oyewole; Supervising Councillor for Health, Hon. Olusakin Adanlawo; Supervising Councillor for Agriculture, Hon. Egunjobi; Special Adviser on Humanitarian Affairs, Hon. Tayo Dada; Special Adviser on Sports, Hon. Oloye Omoniyi; as well as representatives from the Department of Information, Akure South Local Government.
The school outreach forms a significant part of activities marking the administration’s first anniversary, underscoring its commitment to grassroots development through strategic investments in education.
