Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State, on Thursday, reassured residents of Akure of his administration’s commitment to completing key infrastructure projects as he embarked on an on-site inspection of three major road projects across the state capital.

The Governor, who had earlier flagged off the Akure-Ijare Road project, inspected the Irese Flyover, the Akure–Idanre dual carriageway, and the ongoing Ijoka road dualisation. Residents came out in large numbers to cheer him on, expressing satisfaction with the visible progress.
At the Irese Flyover site, the Commissioner for Infrastructure, Engr. Ayorinde Abiola, briefed the Governor, stating that the project had entered its final phase. On the Akure–Idanre Road, the Governor was met with applause as he walked portions of the project on foot, inspecting the quality of work and encouraging the contractors to sustain the pace.
Speaking about the Ijoka Road project, the Governor recalled that the work, initiated by the late Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, was slowed due to contractor issues, which have now been resolved.
“I have visited this road before; what I’ve seen today is commendable,” he said. “People were once pleading for this road, now they are thanking us. Asphalt laying starts next week, and we will soon open it up completely for public use.”
Governor Aiyedatiwa highlighted the importance of the roads for thousands of residents who rely on them daily for work and school access. He promised that the roads would be commissioned soon, reaffirming his administration’s resolve to improve infrastructure across Ondo State.
