OYO KIDNAP VICTIMS: LBW Group Applauds Rescue Effort, Demands Lasting Support for Survivors

The Lion of Bordillon Waves (LBW), a socio-political organization committed to good governance and national development, has reacted to the release of the kidnapped students and teachers in Oyo State, commending the efforts that led to their safe return.

The group, through its National Convener, Engr. Daniel Babafemi Oke, praised the Nigerian security agencies and the Federal Government for their coordinated efforts, courage, and dedication in ensuring the freedom of the victims.

Engr. Oke described the development as a welcome relief to families, communities, and Nigerians at large, noting that the successful rescue operation reflects the importance of strong collaboration among relevant stakeholders in tackling insecurity.

While appreciating the security forces for their commitment, the National Convener emphasized that the fight against crime cannot be achieved by government and security agencies alone.

He stated that every citizen has a responsibility to contribute towards building a safer society by remaining vigilant, providing useful information, and cooperating with security personnel in the fight against criminal activities.

“Security is a collective responsibility. We must all work together with the security agencies to create a society where lives and properties are protected and criminals have no hiding place,” he said.

Lion of Borudillon Waves LBW, further called on the Federal and Oyo State Governments to prioritize the welfare of the rescued students and teachers by providing adequate medical attention, psychological support, and comprehensive rehabilitation programmes.

The group also appealed to the authorities to immortalize the teacher who lost his life during the unfortunate incident, describing him as a patriot who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

According to Engr. Oke, honouring the late teacher will serve as a reminder of the sacrifices made by Nigerians who dedicate their lives to serving others and will inspire renewed commitment to the nation’s educational sector.

The group reaffirmed its support for initiatives aimed at promoting peace, security, and unity, urging Nigerians to continue partnering with security agencies to build a crime-free and peaceful society.
