…….prioritises youth empowerment, infrastructure, healthcare, agriculture ahead of 2027 assembly election.

A leading chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and candidate for the Akoko South West Constituency II seat in the Ondo State House of Assembly, Hon. Niran Olanusi #IseOluwa, has assured the people of the constituency of purposeful, responsive and people oriented representation, when elected in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking in a campaign statement made available to journalists on Sunday, Olanusi declared that the time had come for a new era of leadership driven by accessibility, accountability and measurable development, stressing that the people deserve a representative who understands their realities and is prepared to champion their aspirations.
According to him, his decision to seek elective office is rooted in a deep understanding of the challenges confronting the constituency and a commitment to translating those concerns into effective legislation, impactful projects and sustained government presence.
“As a son of Akokoland, I have lived with the experiences of our people, I understand the burdens of inadequate infrastructure, the struggles of our traders and farmers, the concerns of our youths seeking opportunities, and the healthcare needs of our communities. These are not distant issues to me, they are realities that demand practical solutions,” he said.
Olanusi noted that the constituency requires more than routine political representation, arguing that effective leadership must be visible, accessible and consistently engaged with the people, beyond election periods.
He unveiled a comprehensive five-point development agenda designed to address the most pressing needs of the constituency. The agenda focuses on youth and women empowerment through vocational training, entrepreneurship and small business support; rehabilitation and upgrading of schools and primary healthcare facilities; construction and maintenance of rural roads and markets to stimulate economic activities; increased investment in agriculture and community security; and the establishment of a functional constituency office to ensure continuous interaction between the electorates and their representative.
The APC stalwart pledged to pursue legislations and partnerships that would attract government interventions and development projects to communities across Akoko South West Constituency II, promising to make transparency, inclusiveness and regular consultations, the hallmarks of his representation.
“My representation will be people-first, my normal style of accessibility and accountability. Leadership is not about occupying an office; it is about delivering value, listening to the people and ensuring that government truly works for everyone. Akoko deserves representation that is present before elections, during elections and long after the ballots have been counted,” he added.
Political observers believe Olanusi’s commitment is expected to add fresh momentum to the political landscape within the constituency as consultations and grassroots engagements intensify ahead of the election.
The election into the Ondo State House of Assembly is expected to form part of the 2027 general elections to be conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
