Ileoluji/Okeigbo Constituency Celebrates a Son of Noble Birth

The member representing Ileoluji/Okeigbo Constituency at the Ondo State House of Assembly, Hon. Nelson Akinsuroju, has been nominated for the prestigious Akoni Oodua Bibiire Leadership Award 2026, maiden edition.

The award, organized by Akoni Oodua, is rooted in the Yoruba concept of “Bibiire”, meaning one of noble birth, raised in culture and tradition, respectful to elders and constituted authority, and protective of family name through exemplary conduct. As the Yoruba adage says: “Bibiire ko se e fi owo ra”, “Nobility cannot be bought with money.”

According to the organisers, nominees for this maiden edition are men and women of noble birth with outstanding records of selfless and compassionate service to their communities. Hon. Akinsuroju’s nomination recognizes his commitment to purposeful representation, grassroots development, and the Omoluabi ethos that defines true Yoruba leadership.

The award citation, which will be read at the event and published in a special edition of the Akoni Oodua Diary, celebrates leaders whose lives mirror integrity, service, and dignity.
