Residents of Akure were thrown into confusion on Saturday afternoon following widespread rumours alleging that an instruction had been issued directing everyone to remain indoor by 8pm tonight.

The unverified claim, which circulated rapidly across social media platforms and through word of mouth, sparked concern among residents and business owners, with many seeking clarification over the purported directive.
However, PalacePulse News gathered that no such instruction was issued by the palace of the Deji of Akure, the paramount ruler of Akure Kingdom.
When contacted by PalacePulse News, the Personal Assistant to the Deji of Akure dismissed the rumour as false and misleading. He stated categorically that the palace had not directed residents to stay indoors at any specific time.
According to him, “No such instruction came from the palace of the Deji of Akure. Residents should disregard the rumour and continue with their lawful activities peacefully.”
The palace further urged members of the public to remain calm, law-abiding, and avoid spreading unverified information capable of causing unnecessary panic within the community.
As of the time of filing this report, normal activities continued across major parts of Akure, while residents were advised to rely only on credible sources for information concerning public safety and community affairs.
