Fellow workers of Akoko South West, Ondo State, and Nigeria,

Today we celebrate you, the teachers who mould minds in Supare without chalk, the farmers who feed Oba-Akoko under the assault of sun and rain, the health workers in Akungba who save lives with empty drug shelves, the artisans, traders, civil servants, and youths who wake at dawn to keep Akoko moving.
You are not just workers. You are the backbone of our land.
We commend His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Ondo State Lucky Aiyedatiwa, for his visible commitment to worker’s welfare, from the steady implementation of the new minimum wage, to the gradual clearing of inherited salary arrears and pension, and the push for a civil service that works. Under his leadership, Ondo State is proving that, the Renewed Hope can be Renewed Pay, when leaders listen.
As your son from Supare Akoko seeking to represent Akoko South West, I say this plainly: A government that forgets its workers has forgotten its purpose and that remains a responsibility to work with, on your mandate.
In the Assembly, I will not be a lawmaker who claps while workers cry. I will be a voice that supports the Governor’s pro-worker policies and demands more, for a sustained and timely payment of salaries and pensions, because dignity cannot wait.
Rural job creation, through agriculture, technical hubs in Akungba and Oba, and cottage industries that will keep our youths in Akokoland.
Protection for informal workers, market women, okada riders, and artisans, because your sweat is part of our GDP in Ondo State.
Safe, equipped workplaces, from classrooms in Supare to hospitals in Ikare, to the entire workers of Akoko: I do not ask for your vote with promises of rice. I ask with a covenant, that when you send me to the Ondo State House of Assembly, your labour will speak on the floor, your sweat will write the laws, your children will inherit a Constituency where work pays.
President Tinubu declared an “open field.” Mr. Governor is working to level it in Ondo. Let “May 1st” remind us, that the field is only open when the worker can stand tall in it.
I celebrate your resilience. I honor your sacrifice, and I pledge my loyalty, not to power, but to you, the people, who make Akoko, Ondo State and Nigeria work.
Happy Workers’ Day.
Aluta continua. Akoko must prosper. Ondo State must rise.
“I am loyal to Akoko, Ondo State.”
E – Signed,
Hon. Niran Olanusi
