Lade Fasua Hails Aiyedatiwa’s Swift Intervention, Calls for Collective Action on Security in Ondo

A leading House of Assembly aspirant in Akure South Constituency 2, Hon. Lade Fasua, has commended Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, for his proactive steps in tackling insecurity in Akure North and other flashpoints across the state.

Fasua spoke against the backdrop of the governor’s visit on Tuesday to communities recently affected by attacks, where he engaged traditional rulers and critical stakeholders to assess the situation and chart a way forward.

He described the governor’s on-the-spot assessment as a bold move that reflects genuine concern for the welfare and safety of the people, noting that such leadership is crucial in times of crisis.

“The governor’s decision to personally visit the affected communities and meet with our royal fathers and stakeholders is commendable. It shows a hands-on approach to governance and a readiness to confront challenges head-on,” Fasua said.

According to him, the visit has helped to reassure residents, especially those in Akure North, who have been unsettled by recent security breaches.

He added that the consultations with traditional institutions would strengthen grassroots intelligence and improve response strategies.

Fasua, however, emphasized that government action must be complemented by citizen responsibility. He urged residents across the state to remain alert and cooperate fully with security agencies.

“We all have a role to play. Security is not solely the responsibility of the government; it is a shared duty. Communities must stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities,” he stated.

He further called for sustained synergy between the government, security agencies, and local communities, stressing that only a united front can effectively address the evolving security challenges.

The aspirant reiterated his commitment to supporting policies and initiatives that promote peace and stability, adding that a secure environment remains fundamental to development and prosperity in Ondo State.

Governor Aiyedatiwa’s recent engagements in the affected areas are part of ongoing efforts to restore confidence and strengthen security architecture in vulnerable parts of the state.
