……..You Should be ashamed of your Local Govt – Lambasts Council Boss

Nollywood actor, Kunle Afod, has again taken a swipe at political leaders in Ondo State, questioning where their children are being educated amid the worsening condition of schools, roads and health facilities in Ose Local Government Area.
In a fresh video, Afod decried what he described as the “total collapse” of basic infrastructure in the council area, calling out Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Senator Jide Ipinsagba, the Chairman of Ose Local Government, Clement Kolapo Ojo, and the member representing Owo/Ose Federal Constituency, Hon. Timehin Adelegbe.
Addressing the leaders, Afod said, “Mr. Governor, where are your children schooling? Can you send your children to this kind of schools?”
He posed a similar question to the council chairman, saying, “Where are your children schooling? I am certain if your children are attending any school in Ose Local Government, it will not be like this.”
The actor, who said this was another in a series of videos highlighting the plight of residents, insisted he would not be silenced.
“You think I will be quiet? You think I will be silenced? I will not keep quiet,” he declared.
Afod backed his claims with visuals showing dilapidated classrooms, abandoned school buildings and overgrown compounds, particularly citing a primary school in Idoani.
“Classrooms have been abandoned, roofs are leaking… bushes have taken over the classes. How do people learn in this kind of environment?” he asked.
He lamented that many schools in the area have been deserted due to poor infrastructure and lack of access roads.
“Even the roads linking to those schools are bad, that is why people have abandoned them,” he said.
Beyond education, Afod described the healthcare system in Ose as “totally failed,” alleging that basic health centres and hospitals have been shut down.
“The health system is totally failed… they have closed down all the basic health centres and hospitals in that local government,” he said.
He further revealed that banking services have collapsed in parts of the area.
“There is no bank in Idoani, no bank in Ifon… everywhere is shut down,” he added.
Listing affected communities, Afod said, “Imeri is bad, Ifon is bad, Idogun is bad, Idoani is bad, there is no single good road in Ose Local Government.”
He accused the leaders of neglect and indifference, stating, “Things you are supposed to do for the benefit of the people, you have abandoned.”
Afod also alleged that repeated calls and complaints from residents have been ignored.
“They said they have been calling you, but you no longer pick calls again,” he said, referring to the council chairman.
The actor warned that the situation could have political consequences.
“A time will come when you will come back to ask for votes. We are begging you, it is not to fight you, construct roads, give them electricity, provide basic health services and rehabilitate schools,” he said.
He noted that some communities in Ose have been without electricity for about eight years.
“They have not had electricity in the past eight years. We are not asking for too much,” he stressed.
Afod urged Governor Aiyedatiwa to summon all relevant stakeholders, including the senator, House of Representatives member and state lawmakers, to urgently address the crisis.
“Call on the chairman, call on the senator, call on the House of Representatives member… brainstorm together. You should be ashamed of how bad Ose Local Government has become,” he said.
In a related reaction, concerned residents and stakeholders echoed similar concerns, lamenting that children are learning in poor conditions, hospitals lack basic equipment, roads are nearly impassable, and electricity supply is non-existent.
They appealed to Governor Aiyedatiwa and other political office holders to “hear the cry of the people” and take immediate action to rescue the local government from further decline.
