Residents of Ile-Oluji/Oke-Igbo Constituency in Ondo State have continued to express growing support for the re-election of Honourable Nelson Akinsuroju, citing what many describe as “visible, people centered, and impactful representation” at the Ondo State House of Assembly.

A review of his 2025 scorecard reveals a deliberate focus on education, infrastructure, youth empowerment, and social welfare and other key areas, long identified as critical to grassroots development.
Among his standout interventions, is the provision of free JAMB registration for indigenous students across Ile-Oluji and Oke-Igbo and his scholarship programmes for indigent students of his constituency, a move widely applauded for easing financial burdens on families while expanding access to higher education opportunities. This initiative, complements scholarship awards and broader youth focused programmes aimed at securing a better future for the constituency.
In the area of employment, Honourable Akinsuroju facilitated job placements for his constituents into major state institutions including SUBEB, TESCOM, the Ondo State Internal Revenue Service (ODIRS), the State Judiciary, the Primary Health Care Board, and the State Civil Service. Beneficiaries and community leaders alike have described these efforts as a practical demonstration of responsive representation.
Infrastructure development has also featured prominently. The lawmaker facilitated the rehabilitation of the long neglected Ogbontuntun Bridge and championed the clearing of waterways in Ile-Oluji to mitigate erosion and flooding risks. Additionally, rural accessibility received a boost through the grading of key roads, improving movement and local economic activities.
Communities such as Lipanu, Ayedaade, Eyingun, Lota, and the sensitive boundary area of Olabosipo have benefitted from the installation of solar powered streetlights, enhancing security and night time visibility. In Oke-Igbo, the construction of lock-up shops has provided economic opportunities for traders and small business owners.
Beyond physical projects, his record reflects a compassionate approach to leadership, ranging from empowerment initiatives for the elderly and widows to the distribution of relief materials and food items during critical periods, including the holy month of Ramadan.
Political observers noted that his active legislative role, including community leadership and consistent oversight functions, has further strengthened governance and accountability within his constituency.
As conversations around the next electoral cycle begin to gather momentum, stakeholders across the constituency argue that continuity is essential, to sustain the pace of development already set in motion.
“For once, we have representation that speaks and works for the people,” a community leader in Ile-Oluji remarked. “A second term for Honourable Akinsuroju is not just political, it is a deserved recognition of performance.”
With a track record anchored on tangible results and inclusive governance, many believe that Honourable Nelson Akinsuroju has not only earned the trust of his constituents, but has set a benchmark for quality representation in Ondo State.
