…….State Chairman Allegedly Assaulted as Meeting Turns Chaotic

Chaos erupted on Tuesday at the Ondo State Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress in Akure, the capital of Ondo State, after suspected thugs reportedly stormed the party premises during a stakeholders’ meeting.
The incident occurred at the party’s secretariat in Akure, where members had gathered for what sources described as a routine engagement.
Eyewitnesses said the meeting was abruptly disrupted when a group of unidentified men allegedly forced their way into the venue, causing confusion and fear among party faithful.
During the chaos, the state APC chairman, Engr. Ade Adetimehin, was reportedly assaulted.
Sources within the party claimed he sustained minor injuries in the melee, while several attendees were said to have suffered bruises as they scrambled for safety.
In his reaction, Adetimehin was quoted by party sources as alleging that the attack was linked to internal political tensions and power struggles within the state chapter.
These claims, however, remain unverified as no official investigative findings have been released.
As of press time, the state police command had yet to issue a formal statement regarding arrests or an ongoing investigation.
Security personnel were later deployed to the secretariat to restore law and order.
The incident has intensified concerns over rising tensions within the party in Ondo State, with stakeholders calling for calm and a thorough probe into the disruption.
Further updates are expected as more information becomes available.
