The Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), Ondo State Chapter, has congratulated the government and people of Ondo State on the occasion of the state’s 50th anniversary.
In a congratulatory message issued on behalf of its members, the Ondo State Chapter of the association, led by its Governor, Bashorun Aderemi Kamala, hailed the resilience, cultural richness and steady development of the state since its creation.
Bashorun Kamala also extended warm congratulations to the Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Ayedatiwa, describing the golden jubilee as a significant milestone that calls for sober reflection, unity and renewed commitment to the progress of the state.
According to him, Ondo State has remained a beacon of cultural heritage and creative excellence, producing outstanding talents who have continued to contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s theatre, film and entertainment industries.
“TAMPAN is proud to identify with the people of Ondo State at this historic moment. The last 50 years have showcased the strength, creativity and determination of our people, and we pray that the next decades will usher in greater peace, prosperity and development,” the statement read.
The association, which is led at the global level by Otunba Dr. Bolaji Amusan (Mr Latin) and Alhaji Otunba Dr.Adebayo Salami (Oga Bello), serving as Chairman of the Board of Trustees, reaffirmed its commitment to using theatre and motion pictures as tools for social reorientation and cultural promotion.
Bashorun Kamala also used the occasion to solicit support and prayers for the forthcoming World Theatre Day celebration, scheduled to hold on March 27, 2026.
He noted that the event would further highlight the importance of theatre arts in nation-building and cultural diplomacy.
He called on government, stakeholders and the general public to continue supporting the creative industry, stressing that a vibrant arts sector remains vital to preserving the identity and values of the people of Ondo State and Nigeria at large.
