RE: “AKURE BUILDING COLLAPSE: NO LIVES LOST, GOVT SEALS SITE”

A partial building collapsed in Akure today, which the cause is still unknown.

Palace Pulse News was on the scene to gather first hand information, and we can confirm that no lives were lost and no one was injured in the incident, as workers are still on site, as at the time of filling in this report.

There was no need for evacuation as the area was safely cleared.

The building, located beside the APC old state secretariat, has been sealed off by the state government to prevent unauthorized access and potential looting or vandalism.

The attention of the public is hereby drawn to a false and misleading report circulating in the media and on social platforms claiming that a partial building collapsed in Akure, Ondo State capital, has resulted in the death of three persons.

No incident of death occurred, as no deaths were recorded as alleged in the flying report. At no time on Tuesday or thereafter was any death recorded or reported beside the former APC State Secretariat or anywhere else in Akure as claimed.

Relevant government agencies, including the Ondo State Emergency Management Agency (ODSEMA), the State Fire Service, and security authorities, have verified the situation and confirmed that the report is entirely untrue and unfounded.

No emergency response was triggered because there was no incident warranting such action.

Members of the public are hereby urged to strongly condemn the wrong dissemination of false information, capable of causing public panic, unnecessary fear, and misinformation.

Members of the public and media organizations are urged to always verify information from official and credible sources before publication.
